About 60 Ukrainian Ships Remain in Crimea

About 60 Ukrainian warships remain stationed in Crimea, while 13 were pulled out by Russian tugboats to neutral waters where Ukraine took command of them, according to the RIA Novosti.

Russian and Ukrainian armed forces earlier agreed on withdrawal of Ukrainian ships from Crimea.

Among Ukrainian Navy ships that left Sevastopol earlier this month are Pryluky, Fastov, and Balta, which redeployed to Odesa, as informed by Ukrainian Defence Ministry.

Because of the current situation, Ukraine needs logistic assistance from other countries in various areas of reforms, including that in the defence sector.

According to Chuck Hagel, Barack Obama, U.S. President, approved additional military logistic assistance for Ukraine worth up to USD 6.5 million, Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said in its release on April 18th.
