BAAINBw (Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support) and Marine Alutech Oy have signed a contract for the manufacturing and delivery of Watercat M18 AMC combat boats.

As informed, the contract was signed on October 12, 2026. The vessels are intended for the Seebataillon of the German Navy. includes delivery of 15pcs of Watercat M18 AMC combat boats with training, documentation and a life cycle support package.

Built on the Watercat M18 AMC military off-the-shelf (MOTS) platform, the boat can be configured with different systems to support a range of missions.

The vessels have been used by the Finnish Navy for combat operations, patrolling, transportation of troops, evacuation, and command since 2014. They are made for operations in shallow waters, landing, and fast movement in coastal areas.

Lithuania is also set to use M18 combat boats for specialized operations along its Baltic coast.

Lithuania and Finland have joined the CFMAC development and procurement program, which is open to other EU and NATO member states, following a model similar to Patria’s Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) program.
