General Dynamics Nets More US Navy Submarine Work

General Dynamics-Advanced Information Systems has won a USD 10.4 million modification to previously awarded contract for fiscal 2014 and 2015 multi-purpose processor (MPP) cabinet and the Total Ship Monitoring System (TSMS).

The contract provides funding for the development and production of the MPPs and TSMS (TI-14) for the U.S. submarine fleet.

The multipurpose processor is used within the ARCI program to improve submarine acoustic processing capability on Seawolf and Virginia class submarines. ARCI is a sonar system that integrates and improves towed array, hull array, sphere array, and other ship sensor processing.

Work will be performed in Pittsfield, Mass. (70 percent), and Fairfax, Va. (30 percent), and is expected to be completed by December 2015.
