As informed, the contract involves all departments within Maritime Partner, including design, 3D, and VR mock-ups, comprehensive documentation, and demanding project work. The project includes extensive spare parts packages, rigorous testing and training programs, and assembly at the company’s production facility in Breivika, Aalesund.

‍The new vessels, which are built on an A2000 hull design, will feature the following specifications:

  • Length: 21.7 meters
  • Width: 5.9 meters
  • Range: Over 350 nautical miles
  • Speed: +35 knots
  • Power: 2 x approximately 1200 kW with waterjet.

According to Maritime Partner, the propulsion systems are said to meet stringent IMO Tier III emission requirements, to support the transition to sustainable energy sources. The waterjets ensure reduced noise and vibration, user-friendliness, and easy service access.

“The use of partially recycled aluminum and the potential for full recyclability at the end of the life cycle further emphasize our commitment to green solutions,” the company added.

“DALO is pleased with the contract and looks forward to further cooperation with Maritime Partner regarding the new rescue vessels. The addition of the new vessels in the coming years is a fundamental element in the ongoing renewal of the existing fleet of rescue vessels,” said Commander Steen Balslev at DALO.

“The renewal will give the Coastal Rescue Service a significant boost in its ability to solve the entire spectrum of tasks under the Ministry of Community Safety and Emergency Preparedness. At the same time, the new vessels will ensure that the working environment and safety for the personnel are improved.”

To remind, in November last year, Maritime Partner scored a contract to deliver five Sjøbjørn 38 vessels for the Norwegian Coast Guard. The new vessels will replace the existing boats of the Nornen class.
