With this move, FMD has expanded its portfolio of marine technologies, OEM parts, and turnkey services for maritime defense customers.

“Through our recent acquisition of Samtan Engineering Corporation, we continue delivering value far beyond the cost of our services by adding metal stamping, deep drawing equipment, and machine shop services,” FMD said.

Since 1962, Samtan Engineering Corporation has evolved into a single-source metalworking supplier. From its machine shop in the Boston area, Samtan produces a wide variety of drawn and stamped components and assemblies while providing first-rate customer service to its clients. Its services include shearing, punching, forming, machining, welding, and assembly capabilities.

FMD, a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management, builds, maintains, and services naval power and propulsion systems. For more than 100 years, FMD has been a principal supplier of a growing array of marine technologies, OEM parts, and turnkey services to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, and Canadian Coast Guard.

Recently, the company has also acquired American Fan, a company based in Ohio that specializes in axial and centrifugal fan technology.
