The Pakistan Navy has recently carried out a live firing of an Exocet AM-39 anti-ship missile from a Sea King helicopter.

The navy said the chief of the naval staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah witnessed the event and praised the combat readiness of the fleet.

The live-fire test took place on September 23 in the Arabian Sea and was part of a range of exercises conducted by the Pakistan Navy.

In an earlier test performed in March this year, the navy tested a land-based, anti-ship missile which was deemed a success, according to reports.

The Pakistan Navy has also received a fleet of seven Sea King helicopters in May this year. The contract for the seven helicopters was signed in 2016 while a separate maintenance contract was signed with M/s Vector Aerospace.
