Submarine Rostov-on-Don passed armament trials held at the Northern Fleet and is joining the Black Sea Fleet. The third diesel-electric submarine Stary Oskol is passing armament trials at the Northern Fleet at the moment.

Another two subs, Kolpino and Veliky Novgorod are being built by the shipyard.

Admiral Chirkov commented the possibility of building more diesel-electric submarines by saying that the Command of the Navy was considering that option.

When it comes to the construction of new generation subs of Project 677 Lada, the Commander said the lead submarine of the project was undertaking trial operations in the Northern Fleet.
