Colombian Navy Stops USD 20Mln Worth Cocaine Shipment

The Colombian Navy, in cooperation with the Air Force and the National Police, seized a total of 630 kilograms of cocaine in Colombian waters.

Officials stated that the drugs, valued at more that $20 million, were heading to Central and North America.

Colombian Coast Guard spotted a suspicious boat in the Colombian waters of the South Pacific. When they approached it, the crew of three (two Ecuadorian and one Colombian) tried to escape, but were eventually stopped. The officials inspected the vessel and found 13 packages of drugs, which later tested positive for cocaine.

The seized cocaine was transported to the Coast Guard Station Tumaco.

So far this year the Colombian Navy seized a total of 37 tons of cocaine.
