HII Wins USS Columbus Maintenance Contract

Huntington Ingalls Industries received a $57,8 million contract to undertake planning efforts needed to conduct maintenance, upgrades and modernization works on USS Columbus (SSN 762) during the engineered overhaul period.

This scope of work encompasses planning as well as maintenance and modernization necessary to maintain full unrestricted operations and ensure the submarine is operating at full technical capability.

This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $288,642,249. Work will be performed in Newport News, Virginia, and is expected to be completed in May 2019.

This contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website with two offers received.

The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.
