Canada Awards CCGS Martha L. Black Refit Deal

Authorities

The Government of Canada has awarded a $1.7 million contract to Heddle Marine Service Incorporated for important refit and maintenance work for the CCGS Martha L. Black.

The CCGS Martha L. Black is a high-endurance multi-tasked vessel that joined the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) fleet in 1986.

Repairing and maintaining existing vessels will ensure CCG continues to deliver marine safety and environmental response capacity for future generations.

Funding for this project is partly provided under the Federal Infrastructure Initiative announced in November 2014 by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Under this initiative, the Canadian Coast Guard received $183 million for repair, life extension, and procurement of vessels and small craft.
