HMS Ocean Sails the River Thames

After concluding its five day visit to Sunderland, Royal Navy’s HMS Ocean arrived on the River Thames today.

According to Port of London Authority, the vessel will now sail to Greenwich where it will be moored over the weekend.

HMS Ocean is the Royal Navy’s sole amphibious assault ship and landing platform helicopter. She is designed to support amphibious landing operations and to support the staff of Commander UK Amphibious Force and Commander UK Landing Force. She was commissioned in September 1998 at her home port HMNB Devonport, Plymouth.
