Spanish Navy’s Arnomendi Stops Drug Haul

Authorities

Spanish Navy’s patrol vessel Arnomendi intercepted a trawler carrying drugs.

While conducting a fisheries campaign off Alicante, Spain, the patrol vessel found drugs aboard the trawler SANA during a routine inspection. The Navy found several packages containing a total of 30-40 kg of hashish and arrested four Spanish citizens for drug smuggling. The trawler and the arrested people were taken to the port of Alicante.

Arnomendi deployed on this fisheries campaign on April 27.
