Admiralty Shipyards Launches Sub Krasnodar

Admiralty Shipyards held a ceremonial launching of diesel-electric submarine Krasnodar in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on April 25.

This is the fourth in a series of six submarines being built by Admiralty Shipyards for the Russian Navy.

The first in the series, Novorossiysk, was delivered to Russian Navy in August 2014; the second, Rostov-on-Don, in December 2014, and the third, Stary Oskol, successfully completed its state trials. The remaining two submarines, Veliky Novgorod and Kolpino, are currently under construction.

Krasnodar was laid down in February 2014. The vessels are of the modified 636 project and feature updated combat operations.
