Royal Saudi Naval Forces Tour MARMC

Authorities

Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) welcomed the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RNSF) to in Norfolk, Virginia, April 7-9.

The purpose of the visit was to demonstrate how one of the Navy’s Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs) operates. MARMC Production Manager, Derrick Mitchell, briefed the delegation on MARMC’s shop capabilities, as well as its organizational structure, processes and procedures.

The delegation toured several production shops, including the pump, outside machine, gun, powder coat, hull, self-contained breathing apparatus, and the hyperbaric chamber along with MARMC’s dive boats. At each shop, the delegation was met by a subject matter expert who briefed them on their shop’s capabilities.

The last stop on the tour was the dive locker pier, where Diving Officer Chief Warrant Officer Timothy Andros gave the delegation a tour of their brand new dive boat.

Lt. Cmdr. Scott Delwiche, a naval officer assigned to MARMC, accompanied the RNSF on this trip and summarized some his takeaways as to the benefits of this visit.

The RNSF leadership had a chance to see how the relationships and interactions between the various departments and shops within the building affect the ships outside. The RNSF truly value what we do and our experience.
