HMS Lancaster to Make a Stop in Liverpool

Commanding Officer of HMS Lancaster, Commander Peter Laughton, MBE, will sail his Type 23 Duke Class vessel into Liverpool on Thursday February 26 for a four day visit.

The ship is primarily in the region for affiliation duties with the City of Lancaster and the highlight of the visit will be a ceremony on Friday February 27 at which the Freedom Scroll will be re-dedicated to HMS Lancaster.

HMS Lancaster will berth at Liverpool Cruise Terminal gate number 4. The vessel, which will leave Liverpool on March 1, will be open to visitors on Saturday February 28.

HMS Lancaster was built on the Clyde as the fourth of the Type 23 frigates joining the Fleet in 1992. This versatile multi-role ship can typically be deployed drug-busting in the Caribbean or East of Suez on maritime security patrols.
