USS Arlington Carries Out Small Craft Attack Team Drills

Training & Education

US Navy’s amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) recently conducted small craft attack team drills as part of its training.

The drill included firing a .50-caliber machine gun as well as an M240 machine gun aboard the vessel.

Arlington is underway conducting training to sustain mission readiness for short-notice tasking and future deployments.

The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock is the third ship of the United States Navy to be named for Arlington, Virginia, the location of the Pentagon. Like her sister ships, USS New York and Somerset, she is named in commemoration of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
