Yaroslav Mudry Leaves Malaysia, Heads to Sri Lanka

Russian Navy’s Neustrashimy class frigate “Yaroslav Mudry” (727), a part of the Baltic Fleet (BF), departed the Malaysian Penang Port and is now on its way to Sri Lanka.

The vessel will pass the Malacca Strait, which connects the Indian Ocean with the Pacific Ocean, and sail through the Bay of Bengal towards Sri Lankan coast.

The vessel was docked in Penang Port from November 14th. During its stay, the Russian sailors completed necessary maintenance work, conducted an inspection of the ship and replenished water and fuel.

Yaroslav Mudry departed the main naval base of Baltiysk on 9 August. During the deployment the vessel sailed more than 12 thousand nautical miles, visited the port of Salalah (Oman), the Spanish Ceuta port on the Mediterranean coast of Africa, the port of Valletta in Malta, the port of Karachi in Pakistan as well as Jakarta in Indonesia.
