Interstate Electronics Lands Trident II Contract Modification
TRIDENT II MISSILE

Interstate Electronics Corp. has won a USD 8.9 million modification under previously awarded contract aimed at providing technical support to flight test instrumentation systems intended for Trident II flight tests.

Under the modification, the contractor will exercise option line items for a new technology refresh of the C-Band Pulse Doppler Radar (RADAR-C) Transmitter and replacement of the U.S. Navy Mobile Instrumentation Ship Communication System in support of Trident II flight tests.

Trident II D-5 is the sixth generation member of the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program which started in 1956. Systems have included the Polaris (A1), Polaris (A2), Polaris (A3), Poseidon (C3), and Trident I (C4).

The work will be performed in Anaheim, Calif. (80 percent); Cape Canaveral, Fla. (18 percent); and San Jose, Calif. (2 percent), and is expected to be completed by March 15, 2016.
