Raytheon Nabs USD 80.5 Mln JSOW Contract from US Navy
LAUNCHING OF JSOW

Raytheon has secured an $80.5 million contract modification for the procurement of 200 full rate production Lot 10 AGM-154C-1 Joint Standoff Weapons (JSOWs)for the United States Navy.

In addition, the contract provides for associated support equipment and one performance characterization test.

JSOW is an interoperable air-to-ground weapon system that employs an integrated GPS-inertial navigation system and terminal imaging infrared seeker, aimed at ensuring an advanced anti-surface warfare solution on the F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft.

JSOW C-1 adds the two-way Strike Common Weapon Datalink to the combat-proven weapon, enabling U.S. and allied warfighters to engage moving ships as far as 60 miles away.

The JSOW C-1 was subjected to Navy testing in August at Point Mogu, California amid which it demonstrated the ability to receive third-party target updates in-flight, retarget after release and strike a precise point on a moving ship by utilization of its autonomous terminal seeker.

Work as stipulated by the contract modiciation is scheduled for completion in August 2016.
