Excellence of Australian Navy Personnel Recognised

The Royal Australian Navy would like to congratulate eight of its members who were awarded honours by The Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, during a series of Investiture Ceremonies held at Government House, Sydney this week.

They were:


Conspicuous Service Cross

 

Commander Paul John Hines
For outstanding achievement as the Commanding Officer, Patrol Boat Crew ARDENT FIVE in the rescue of 273 survivors in two search and rescue operations in June and July 2012.

Commander Mitchell Robert Livingstone
For outstanding achievement while Commanding Officer HMAS Pirie engaged in the rescue of survivors from a foundered vessel at Christmas Island on 15 December 2010.

Commander Michael John Stock
For outstanding achievement in the field of leadership development and leadership coaching in the Royal Australian Navy’s warfare community.


The Medal of the Order of Australia (Military Division)

 

Warrant Officer Frederick Lindsay Campbell
For meritorious service in the field of aviation maintenance and for leadership as a Warrant Officer in HMA Ships Cerberus and Creswell.


Conspicuous Service Medal

 

Commander Anita Louise Sellick
For meritorious devotion to duty as Staff Officer Navigation and Seamanship and as Commander Policy, Australian Maritime Warfare Centre.

Lieutenant Clinton Ernest Walters
For meritorious achievement in support of Operation RESOLUTE during 2011 and 2012 while serving as the Executive Officer, Patrol Boat Crew ATTACK FOUR.


Conspicuous Service Cross

 

Lieutenant Commander Peter Matthew Smith
For outstanding achievement as the Officer-in-Charge of the Submarine and Underwater Medicine Unit in HMAS Penguin.


Commendation for Distinguished Service

 

Commodore Jonathan Dallas Mead AM, RAN
For distinguished performance of duty in warlike operations as the Commander Combined Taskforce 150 on Operation SLIPPER in the Middle East from October 2011 to April 2012.

Furthermore, the Royal Australian Navy extend its congratulations to Commodore Ian Arthur Callaway RAN (Retired) who received the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division for his service to veterans and their families.
