Outstanding Efforts of HMAS Creswell’s Crew Recognised

Recognition of the efforts of Navy people is a priority at HMAS Creswell and a recent ‘clear lower deck’ provided an excellent opportunity to congratulate some members of ship’s company on their work.

Creswell has a specific quarterly award for teamwork within the command unit. Recipients of the teamwork award for the second quarter of 2013 were the Physical Training Staff, lead by Chief Petty Officer Physical Training Instructor (CPOPTI) Brad Walsh. The award recognises the support that the team provides to the ship’s company, trainees, visiting groups and the community.

Individual recognition was also given to Chief Petty Officer Boatswain (CPOB) Grant Peck, who received a Commanding Officer’s Commendation.  His exceptional efforts as a Written Communications Instructor at the Royal Australian Naval College were greatly appreciated by trainees and fellow staff.Creswell’s Commanding Officer, Captain Brett Chandler, highlighted CPOB Peck’s achievements to the assembled ship’s company, who watched as the senior sailor was presented his commendation.

At the award ceremony, twelve members were also presented with Operational Service Medals, mostly for Border Protection operations. Third and fourth clasps to the Defence Long Service Medal were awarded, along with an Australian Service Medal and a promotion certificate.
