HMAS Anzac Arrives at Port of Colombo

Australian Naval ship, HMAS Anzac arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 07th January 2013. She was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on arrival.

Ship’s Commanding Officer, Commander John Stavridis called on Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Colombo. They held cordial discussions and exchange mementos as a gesture of goodwill.

HMAS Anzac is a frigate carrying a Naval helicopter onboard. The ship is 118 meters in length and has a complement of 29 officers and 163 sailors. She will stay in Sri Lanka until 09th January and the ship’s crew will participate in a special programme organized by the Sri Lanka Navy during their stay in Sri Lanka.
