Indonesian Naval Ship Arrives at Port of Colombo

Indonesian Naval ship, “Kri Sultan Hasanuddin” arrived at the Port of Colombo on a logistic visit on 01st January 2013. The visiting ship, which is heading home after a UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) mission, was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on arrival.

Ship’s Commanding Officer, Commander Dato Rusman Sultan Nurdin called on Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Colombo. They held cordial discussions and exchange mementos as a gesture of goodwill.

INS Kri Sultan Hasanuddin is a corvette carrying a Naval helicopter onboard. The ship is 90.71 meters in length and has a complement of 34 officers and 71 sailors. It will stay in Sri Lanka until 02nd January and the ship’s crew will participate in a special programme organized by the Sri Lanka Navy during their stay in Sri Lanka.
