SLN Assists in Repatriation of 10 Sri Lankan Fishermen

Sri Lanka Navy assisted in the repatriation of 10 Sri Lankan fishermen along with 02 fishing boats on 05th July 2012.

The boats named “DanshkaPutha” and “Piyumali” and the fishermen were taken over from the Indian Costal Guard Ship (ICGS) Rajshree at the International Maritime Boundary Line off KKS by Sri Lanka Naval Vessel P 414attached to the Northern Naval Command. Sri Lanka Coast Guard Vessel CG 40 also assisted the mission.

Repatriation of Sri Lankan fishermen and their fishing boats comes as a direct result of the collaborative efforts made by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Sri Lanka Navy and the Indian officials.
