Cameroon Navy Takes Delivery of Three New Patrol Boats

Cameroon navy has taken delivery of three new Boston Whaler patrol boats from the US. These boats will be used for countering threats of piracy and lawlessness.

The navy evaluated the patrol boats at a presentation ceremony.

Reportedly, the New Boston Whalers were bought at undisclosed cost. This purchase followed advice from high-ranking United States Marine Security Experts.

These patrol boats are equipped with 300 hp four-stroke Yamaha V6 outboard engines, electronic navigation systems, three machineguns each and infrared cameras.

Cameroon navy has named the boats Justice I, II and III. One will be stationed at the Kirbi Naval Base and two will be stationed at the Douala Naval Base, defenceweb reports.
