Systems Engineering & Assessment (SEA), a subsidiary of Cohort PLC, has secured a 15-year contract with Thales UK to support the Royal Navy’s ship availability through the Maritime Sensor Enhancement Team (MSET) program.
As disclosed, the £8 million contract will see SEA help reduce the risk of system obsolescence while ensuring sustained functionality and enhancements.
Under the MSET contract, S EA will continue providing waterfront support maintenance and regulatory inspections on the towed array handling equipment used by UK dockyards and overseas staff.
In addition, SEA’s engineers will deliver repairs and operational defects/damage maintenance to ensure the required availability for the Royal Navy.
Furthermore, the MSET smarter maintenance program will support vital capabilities including sonar, masts, periscopes, and electronic warfare to increase equipment availability and maintain the continuous sea deterrent (CASD).

The sole source contract is a follow-on order from the Sensors Support Optimisation Project (SSOP).
