As informed, the exercise was part of the plan to fulfill the naval elements of the K-2 course task (actions of a single ship at sea for its intended purpose).

At the Baltic Fleet’s naval training grounds, located in the Baltic Sea, the corvettes’s crew conducted combat training during a naval tactical exercise, operating in an environment with active opposition from simulated enemy forces and assets.

The small missile ship used a standard ship artillery mount to destroy mockups simulating floating mines.

In the second stage, the vessel practiced actions against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned boats, focusing on the destruction of small-sized air and surface targets from the simulated enemy.

The combat exercises were carried out at various ranges, using naval artillery mounts and large-caliber machine guns.

Additionally, Grad performed electronic missile launches with the Kalibr missile system at target combat ships of the simulated enemy, as well as coastal military infrastructure.

As a result of the electronic launches, all designated targets were successfully hit, the Russian Navy noted.

Grad is the tenth small missile ship of the Buyan class, which was built in Zelenodolsk for the Russian Navy. The vessel was laid in April 2017 and launched in September 2021. Sea trials of the corvette started in the Baltic in October 2022, while the ship was officially delivered to the navy in December 2022.
