Serco inks $97 million contract to support US naval shipyards

Serco has secured a new, five-year contract worth $97 million to provide program management and business performance improvement support to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).

As informed, under the deal, the company will support projects at four US naval shipyards:

  • Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Virginia;
  • Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Maine;
  • Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Washington state; and,
  • Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Hawaii.

The contract also includes support at the Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Centre in Yokosuka, Japan.

Serco will provide technical knowledge and operational support across several areas, including LEAN process innovation to enhance efficiency, and program management training to strengthen project oversight.

The company will also focus on developing integrated product teams and workforce capabilities, offering on-site coaching for project execution.

Additionally, Serco will support environmental, safety, and health programs to ensure compliance and promote best practices across operations.
