Yakutsk is the sixth and the last submarine of the series for the Pacific Fleet. The keel was laid down at the shipyard in August 2021.

The launching ceremony took place on October 11, 2024, at the company’s shipyard in Russia. The vessel was rolled out from the plant’s production hall to the floating dock.

“We are launching the sixth submarine for the Pacific Fleet, completing the construction of a series of six ships as planned. Project 636 submarines are equipped with high-precision weapons that are capable of solving problems of any complexity in different areas of the ocean”, deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Igor Mukhametshin said.

After launching, the ship will undergo a number of outfitting works at the shipyard berth, and factory sea trials will be performed. After that, the submarine will be delivered to the Russian Navy, according to the shipbuilder.

To remind, the fifth submarine in this class, Mozhaisk, was delivered to the Russian Navy in November last year.
