Pakistan Navy and JMSDF conduct PASSEX in North Arabian Sea

The Pakistan Navy Ship PNS Yarmook, operating in support to CTF-150, conducted a passing exercise (PASSEX) with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force JS Samidare in the Nort Arabian Sea.

The collaborative exercise involved a series of coordinated tactical maneuvers, communication drills and maritime security operations to enhance the mutual understanding and operational flexibility of both navies.

This exercise aims to bolster naval presence in a region encompassing some of the world’s most critical shipping lanes, thereby contributing to the safety of navigation on the high seas.

The Pakistan Navy leverages its strategic location and experience in regional maritime security, while the JMSDF brings advanced capabilities and a commitment to counter-piracy efforts. 

Together, they want to play a vital role in maintaining stability and security in international waters. Their contributions are essential in safeguarding maritime interests and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of global trade.

“The conduct of this goodwill exercise reflects and reinforces our collective resolve to ensure security and stability on the high seas,” said Commodore Asim Sohail Malik, commander of CTF-150.
