French naval shipbuilding major Naval Group has chosen Greek company MEVACO as a supplier for mechanical systems and metalwork equipment for Hellenic Navy’s FDI HN frigates.

On 15 June, the two companies signed a framework agreement related to mechanical systems for the FDI HN frigates. Within the scope of the framework agreement, MEVACO will procure part of the mast, hull, and mobile equipment.

The deal, as emphasized by the French shipbuilder, illustrates the company’s Hellenic Industry Participation Plan and demonstrates its commitment to developing and structuring industrial cooperation with the Hellenic industry.

In addition to this, other agreements are on track to be signed with several firms in Greece in the coming months.

Naval Group’s objective is to further develop its footprint in Greece through partnerships with Hellenic industry, research, and academic partners.

To remind, Greece signed a contract with French shipbuilding major Naval Group for three defence and intervention (FDI HN) frigates, plus one optional, and their in-service support to be built for the Hellenic Navy.
