Croatian shipbuilder Brodosplit has laid the keel for the final two inshore patrol vessels being built for the country’s defense ministry.
On 17 November 2020, the keel was laid for newbuilds No. 541 and 542 at the shipyard in Split.
In August this year, the shipbuilder also held a steel-cutting ceremony for a total of four units that are part of the CPV series of new patrol vessels.
A month later, the keel was laid for the newbuilds No. 541 and 542.
The inshore patrol vessels will be operated by the Croatian Coast Guard, part of the Croatian Navy, and perform patrol, search and rescue and EEZ protection tasks.
Once completed, the ships will have a length of 43.16 meters, and a width of 8 meters. With a range of 1,000 nautical miles, each boat will have a crew of 17 people and will be able to reach a maximum speed of 29 knots.
