During her time underway, the submarine visited Singapore, Subic Bay and Darwin.

Sheean’s Commanding Officer, Commander Darren White, said while submariners expected to spend a lot of time at sea, coming home was always a highly anticipated event.

“Just knowing that your family is waiting for you at home makes our job a lot easier.”

Sheean is the fifth of overall six subs in the Collins-class which were commissioned between 1996 and 2003. They will be replaced by 12 Attack-class submarines that will be built in Australia under a contract with France’s Naval Group.
