During their stay at Changi Naval Base, the ships will host the Russian ambassador to Singapore in addition to meeting with the Royal Singapore Navy commander. They are scheduled to conclude the visit on December 2.

The Pacific Fleet task group got underway from Vladivostok on October 1 for a series of engagements, exercises and port visits in the Pacific Rim region. The task group’s first port visit was to Japan’s Hokaido before taking part in the Republic of Korea Navy-hosted International Naval Review before visiting South Korea’s Jeju-do Island base.

Prior to arriving to Singapore the ships also stopped in Qingdao, China, and Muara, Brunei.

Led by the 186-meter long Pacific Fleet flagship Varyag, the task group is scheduled to return home by early January.
