Virginia-based Oceaneering International has been awarded a $68.8 million contract for maintenance, product improvement and design services on the US Navy’s dry deck shelter (DDS) program.

The contract provides Naval Special Warfare Command with engineering services to support maintenance, product improvement and design services and repairs of US Special Operations Command’s dry deck shelter assets.

Oceaneering’s Marine Services Division has over 30 years of experience in providing full-service ship repair capabilities for US Navy submarines, surface ships and craft, and deep submergence systems.

The US Navy currently has six dry deck shelters from which Navy SEALS operate SEAL delivery vehicles and conduct mass swimmer lockouts. The DDS can also be used to deploy unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs).
