Gulfstream delivers special mission G550 aircraft to US Navy

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., part of General Dynamics, has delivered a special mission G550 to the United States Navy.

Designed and modified at Gulfstream, this aircraft will host a wide array of sensors to support the navy’s telemetry range support mission.

“The G550, with its exceptional reliability and proven performance, is an ideal aircraft for telemetry range support aircraft and will help the US Navy address its diverse and challenging operations,” Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, said.

With excellent performance, speed, high altitude and range, these aircraft are built for a variety of special missions. The sophisticated cabin also provides an optimized operational environment for crews, as explained by the company.

For more than 50 years, Gulfstream has been producing aircraft for a variety of special missions, including head-of-state transport, airborne early warning, ground surveillance, maritime patrol and aeromedical evacuation.
