The contract, awarded by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), is for a number of combined oxygen generating systems (COGS) and additional ancillary items for in-service submarines.

The systems will be manufactured by TPG Engineering and are expected to be fully delivered by 2026, according to the company.

As informed, the award is part of a framework contract with MoD, announced in April 2017, for the provision of up to eight COGS and additional ancillary items to upgrade in-service Royal Navy submarines.

These systems generate oxygen from sea water to deliver breathable air as part of the environmental management that allows submarines to remain submerged for extended periods.

“We are delighted to confirm the next step on this long-term agreement which demonstrates the strength of our support to the MoD’s submarine programmes and provides further visibility of revenues in the Engineering business unit,” Phil Cartmell, Chief Executive Officer of TP Group, commented.
