The US Navy has awarded BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair a $34.78 contract for the overhaul of Ticonderoga-class cruiser USS Cape St. George (CG 71).
The San Diego-homeported cruiser will be undergoing what is known as a special selected restricted availability (SSRA). This includes depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications aimed at improving the performance of the 567-foot (172m) ship.
