In addition to the cruiser contract, BAE Systems’ San Diego unit will also be responsible for the overhaul of Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83) and Avenger-class mine counter measure ship USS Champion under contracts awarded on December 27, 2017. Howard and Champion are set to complete their overhauls in February 2019 and August 2018, respectively.
