KSEW launches patrol vessel for Pakistan Maritime Security Agency

Pakistan’s state-owned shipbuilder Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) on December 5 launched a 600-ton patrol vessel for the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA).

The launching ceremony was attended by the Pakistan Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi in addition to other navy and government officials.

The vessel is being built with technical collaboration of China Shipbuilding & Trading Co. (CSTC).

The vessel is 68.5 meters long and 8.7 meters wide with a steel hull and an aluminium super structure. Overall six patrol ships will be built for PMSA and used for maritime security and search and rescue missions in the exclusive maritime economic zone of Pakistan.
