The US Navy has awarded Leonardo a $20.9 million contract to deliver up to 31 of its instrument landing systems (ILS) for installation on US Navy installations.

The contract was awarded to Leonardo’s subsidiary Selex ES Inc. by NAVAIR (Naval Air Systems Command) for the delivery of Model 2100 instrument landing systems with collocated distance measuring equipment (DME).

According to Leonardo, the Model 2100 is an FAA-approved and ICAO Annex 10-compliant system that is commissioned at hundreds of Category I – III operational locations worldwide.
