Australian Navy picks Cubic for simulation drills assistance

The Royal Australian Navy has selected Cubic Global Defense to develop and deliver simulation-enabled training events to its forces.

The four-year contract, valued at approximately USD $7.11 million or AUD $9 million, provides a range of simulation planning, technical support and professional interactors to enhance RAN’s multisite synthetic training events at the Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC).

The NSWC was recently established at the HMAS Watson Naval Base on Sydney Harbour. The NSWC will facilitate synthetic training events and focus on delivering local and distributed mission training activities in both land-based simulators and ships in an agile manner.

“We are proud to partner with the RAN in the ongoing development of the Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre,” said Miles Macdonald, general manager Cubic Defence Australia.

Cubic further added that its contract would increase the potential of live, virtual and constructive training integration across the Australian Navy. Supporting both individual and collective training, Cubic will design and deliver synthetic training events and networks involving a combination of dedicated simulators, which will be distributed to naval vessels.
