BAE Systems gets $33m contract for USS Lassen dry-docking refit

The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards Mayport a $33.6 million firm-fixed-price contract for work on the Dry-dock Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA) repairs of guided-missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82).

According to a U.S. Department of Defense announcement, the work will consist of structural and tank repairs, propulsion systems repairs, ventilations and auxiliary systems repairs, temporary services habitability preservations, structural preservations, ship alterations, and miscellaneous repairs.

BAE will perform the DSRA in Jacksonville, Florida, and is expected to complete it by March 2018.

USS Lassen is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer which arrived to its new homeport in Florida after spending the previous ten years forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan.
