Italian IDS showcases new naval satellite terminals at NAVDEX

Italian group IDS Ingegneria Dei Sistemi presented its new satellite terminals for the naval sector for the first time in the Gulf region at the 2017 NAVDEX exhibition.

Designed and developed by Skytech, the new Ku-Ka multi-band satellite terminals with their high connectivity capacity were highlighted during the event.

The IDS group also showcased its systems for coastal monitoring and surveillance, as well as for the protection of critical areas such as infrastructure, forward operating bases, convoys and airports. IDS also showcased a radar system for detection, identification and neutralization of hostile unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

In addition, the Skytech satellite communication systems have played a key role at NAVDEX, the UAE event for the naval defense sector. The BB50 Ka-band from Skytech/IDS is installed on the Fast Patrol Vessel FSD195, designed by the FSD Ferretti Security and Defense division. The new model of vessel was in international waters for the first time during this NAVDEX edition.
