BAE Systems gets $ 51M for USS Roosevelt maintenance

The U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command has contracted BAE Systems Southeast Shipyard Mayport to carry out depot maintenance period availability on the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Rosevelt (DDG 80).

This type of maintenance is a long-term availability and was competed on a coast-wide (East and Gulf) basis on Arleigh Burke-class destroyers without limiting the place of performance to a vessel’s homeport.

Under a $51.3 million contract, BAE will provide the facilities and human resources capable of completing, coordinating, and integrating multiple areas of ship maintenance, repair, and modernization of USS Roosevelt.

If all options on the contract are exercised, its cumulative value would be brought to $68,489,712. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Florida, and is expected to be completed by April 2018.
