HMNZS Canterbury returns from dry-docking period in Sydney, Australia

Royal New Zealand Navy’s multi-role vessel HMNZS Canterbury has returned from Sydney, Australia having completed a nine-week dry-docking period.

After harbor acceptance trials were completed, the ship sailed into Devonport on October 10.

The ship’s crew will now rest for two weeks alongside Devonport Naval Base before they proceed with aviation assessments and exercises.

After a short visit to Wellington, HMNZS Canterbury will take part in an international exercise and the International Naval Review in November.

Before spending nine weeks in Sydney, Canterbury was tasked with delivering relief and recovery efforts to Fiji after a tropical cyclone hit the country in February this year.
