Russia fires ballistic missiles from three platforms in one day

Two Russian Navy submarines and one launch pad at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome fired ballistic missiles from different positions within a single day on October 12, the Russian Ministry of Defense has informed.

The Russian Pacific Fleet submarine Georgiy Pobedonosets was the first to fire a ballistic missile from the Sea of Okhotsk while submerged.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the missile landed on a range in northern Russia.

Another strategic nuclear submarine, Delfin-class Novomoskovsk, later launched a Sineva missile, also from a submerged position. The liquid-fueled submarine-launched ballistic missile reached the Kura testing range on the Kamchatka Peninsula.

In a separate launch, Russia launched a Topol ICBM from the Russian spaceport Plesetsk Cosmodrome which subsequently hit its target on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
