A U.S. Navy T-45C Goshawk crashed southwest of Naval Air Station (NAS) Kingsville, Texas, on August 14, the navy has said.
According to the navy, both pilots ejected safely and are being evaluated for injuries at a local hospital.
The training aircraft, assigned to Training Squadron (VT) 21, was on a routine training mission over Brooks County when it crashed. County first responders were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The navy further said that names of the pilots are being withheld for privacy reasons while the cause of the incident was under investigation.
A T-45C Goshawk skidded off a runway and into San Diego Bay in May 2015 at Naval Air Station North Island, California. The pilot of the 2015 incident also managed to eject and escape the accident with no major injuries.
T-45 Goshawk was manufactured by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) and used by the United States Navy as an aircraft carrier-capable trainer.
