Defence shipbuilder Goa Shipyard Limited has delivered ICGS Shoor, the second improved 105-meter patrol ship, to the Indian Coast Guard.
Launched on March 21, 2015, the vessel was delivered ahead of schedule during a March 23 ceremony held at GSL.
According to GSL, the new class of six OPV ships will be the second biggest ships on joining the Coast Guard fleet.
The shipbuilder further added that the new vessel was more maneuverable and fuel efficient despite of the fact that it displaces 20.8% more than its predecessor vessel.
The new class of ships provides accommodation for 16 officers and 102 sailors. It is armed with one 76 mm Oto Melara gun and two 30 mm CWS guns.
