Russian shipyard Pella announced December 17 that it has completed mooring and sea trials for their factory patrol boat project 03160, commonly called “Raptor”.

The boat now has to pass the state tests after which it will be delivered to the customer.

The shipyard launched the first of the planned four Raptor boats for the Russian Navy in June 2014. Originally, all four boats were meant to be delivered to the navy before end-2014.

According to the company, the ship carries at least 20 people and is suited for small-target interception and people rescue.

The 2200 hp, 17-meter ship is designed to navigate the coastal zone of seas, straits and mouths of rivers during ice-free period. The raptor will be armed with a remote weapons station and a 14,5 mm heavy machine-gun. Additionally, the vessel has two 7.62 “Pecheneg” machine guns.
